CAD/CAM is an acronym that stands for computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing.
Utilizing a 3D intraoral scanner, Dr. Gharib can capture digital impressions without the discomfort of traditional trays, significantly enhancing patient comfort. The dental restoration is then designed using advanced 3D computer technology, carefully analyzes how the new restoration interacts with your existing teeth.
Once the 3D impression scan has been created, Dr. Gharib will then create the final restoration using an on-site milling machine with CAD/CAM technology. The final product is made from a tooth-colored ceramic material that provides outstanding durability, often exceeding that of many restorations produced in external labs. Depending on the specific procedures, you might receive your dental restoration on the same day or the next, rather than waiting one to two weeks for a lab-created restoration.
